Donor Privacy Policy

I. Scope/Purpose

AOM maintains a reputation for integrity and honesty in dealing with its donors and the public. This Donor Privacy Policy is an integral part of AOM maintaining this reputation. It provides a clear statement of policy that AOM volunteers and independent contractors are to follow. The policy also applies to directors and others who may represent AOM.

II. Policy

AOM is committed to respecting the privacy of our donors and will never share or sell your information to a third party. We do NOT list individuals’ names in ANY of our publications. Corporate and Foundation sponsors may be listed in our annual publications and on social media pages as applicable.

The types of donor information that we collect and maintain include:

· contact information: name, organization/company, complete address, phone number, email address

· donation information: amounts donated, date of donation(s), and method (credit card numbers are NOT retained once processed.)

· information concerning hours you have volunteered

Use of donor information will be limited to the internal purposes of AOM and only to further the mission of AOM. Your data is used to maintain records of donations, send acknowledgements, mail tax statements to you, send newsletters, notices and direct mail/email pieces, and for internal record keeping purposes. 

AOM believes in honoring the request of its donors with respect to their privacy. Therefore, any request by a donor to have their contribution designated as an anonymous gift will be honored. Under such circumstances, the donor’s name and address will not be disclosed and will be held in confidence. Disclosure to the members of the AOM Board of Directors is permitted in circumstances where such disclosure is necessary for the Board to fulfill its fiduciary responsibilities. Donors wishing to remain anonymous should notify AOM of this preference by contacting the executive department at asheoutreach@gmail.com or PO Box 157, Creston, NC 28615.

 III. Administration and Application

AOM’s Donor Privacy Policy is closely monitored. In the event of an alleged violation of this policy, AOM will weigh relevant facts and circumstances to determine the appropriate actions to be taken if it is determined a violation of this policy occurred.
